Olive L. Sullivan has been telling stories in prose and poetry for as long as she can remember, but her writing career has also included stints as a journalist and professor of journalism, communications, and creative writing, as well as advising award-winning college media. She enjoys encouraging and supporting others through her words and actions. She was born in Illinois but raised in Pittsburg and has lived in Colorado, New Mexico, and England. Since moving back to Pittsburg in 1998, she has been impressed with the resurgence of arts in our community. She is fairly new to the Pittsburg Arts Council, but often participates in ArtWalks, poetry readings, and Craft of Art presentations. She works as a bookbinder under the name of Sullivan Book Arts, repairing books and creating custom journals. She's especially fond of her fantasy themed journals, which feature hand-painted eyes. In addition to serving on PAC, Sullivan is on the board of Women Helping Women: A Fairy Godmothers Fund and is a Kansas Touring Artist.
