Roger Horton is a highly accomplished artisan bread baker, musician, and fine arts advocate, who was born and raised in the small town of Girard, Kansas. After graduating from Girard High School in 2001, he went on to pursue his Associate's Degree at Fort Scott Community College, where he honed his skills and passion for music.
In 2003, Roger was recognized for his outstanding musical abilities, receiving the Outstanding Musician Award. He continued to pursue his passion for music and became a local musician, producing several albums that showcase his talent and creativity.
In addition to his love for music, Roger is also a self-taught artisan bread baker. His passion for baking started as a necessity, but he soon became known for his delicious and unique bread creations. Along with his partner (and wife), he co-founded Pittsburg Bread Company & TOAST llc, which has become beloved local businesses in Downtown Pittsburg, KS.
Roger is also a passionate advocate for the arts and is a founding member of Pittsburg ArtWalk. He believes that the arts are an essential part of any thriving community, and has been instrumental in promoting and supporting local artists, especially musicians.
In 2014, he was invited, along with his band Sextonic Plates to perform as a guest at the infamous South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas. He continues to inspire and influence others with his creativity and passion for music.
Today, Roger lives and works in the heart of Pittsburg, KS - Downtown, where he continues to make a positive impact on the community through his music, baking, and advocacy for the arts.
