To maintain a high-quality and diverse ArtWalk experience, all artist and vendor applications are reviewed through a juried selection process. This ensures that participants align with PAC’s mission to promote creativity, community, and inclusivity in the arts.
All applications are reviewed by a jury committee made up of PACA board members and community arts representatives. The committee evaluates each submission based on the following criteria:
Applicants will be notified of their status within a set time frame following the submission deadline. Accepted participants will receive event logistics, promotional guidelines, and further instructions.
In some cases, qualified applicants may be placed on a waitlist due to limited space. Those not selected are encouraged to reapply for future ArtWalks and may request feedback from the jury, if available.
Artists who were not selected are welcome to submit new or updated work for future events. All applications are reviewed fresh for each event cycle.
At PAC, we value the time and energy of our artists, volunteers, and community. To ensure a fair and consistent experience for everyone, we’ve outlined the following cancellation and dispute guidelines:
Artists must notify PAC as soon as possible if they are unable to attend. Failure to provide notice may result in disqualification from future ArtWalk events. In some cases, canceled participation may be rolled over to a future ArtWalk at PAC’s discretion.
If severe weather occurs, the ArtWalk will be rescheduled for a designated rain date. All standard event policies will still apply. Refunds will not be issued for weather-related reschedules due to the promotional costs involved.
If the event is canceled due to unforeseen, non-weather-related circumstances, artists will receive full booth fee credit toward the next ArtWalk.
Vendors who cancel more than two weeks before the event will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within two weeks of the event are not eligible for refunds due to already-incurred promotional and administrative costs.
PAC reserves the right to refuse participation to any vendor, artist, or organization. Disputes will be addressed first through a discussion with PACA’s board. If unresolved, mediation will be handled by the City of Pittsburg’s Community Development Specialist. PACA’s financial liability is limited to the amount of fees paid by the complainant.
The Pittsburg Arts Council Association (PACA) has created this policy to clarify our position on fan art—art inspired by copyrighted works such as movies, books, music, sports teams, and other branded content.
Examples of fan art IP include (but are not limited to): Marvel, DC, Disney, Netflix, film franchises, sports logos, musical artists, characters, and symbols. These are protected by copyright and trademark laws.
While we recognize that fan art plays a meaningful role in many artists’ development, we strongly discourage the sale of fan art at PAC events to help artists avoid potential copyright infringement.
If you choose to sell fan art, you do so at your own risk. Please ensure it follows Fair Use principles and does not claim ownership of the original concept.
PAC is not liable for any legal issues resulting from the display or sale of fan art. By participating, you agree to indemnify PACA and its representatives from any claims related to intellectual property violations.
