Devynn Pitts-Ceesay is a creative professional originally from Baxter Springs, Kansas. She moved to Pittsburg in 2020 to pursue her education and immersed herself in the community. After graduating in May of 2024 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Illustration from Pittsburg State University, Devynn quickly became an active contributor to the city’s dynamic arts scene. In July 2024, she became a member of Artforms Gallery Co-Op, further deepening her connection to the local art community. Additionally, she is honored to be the newest board member of the Pittsburg Arts Council, working to elevate the Pittsburg Artwalk and conjoin the arts communities. She also works at the Pittsburg Public Library, where she uses her creative skills to help develop community programs for all ages. Devynn loves the combination of Pittsburg's small-town charm and its vibrant arts culture, which continues to inspire both her personal and professional life.
When working as an artist, Devynn Mae Pitts blends digital and traditional techniques to create work that balances contemporary innovation with nostalgic warmth. Drawing from her love of American folk art, vintage aesthetics, and contemporary design; her art often features bold colors and grainy textures that evoke a sense of connection. Devynn has collaborated with many local artists, appreciating the creativity and community spirit that defines Pittsburg’s artistic landscape. Her work has been published in The Cow Creek Review and is now displayed at Artforms Gallery downtown.
In her free time, Devynn enjoys picnics and walks with her wife, going to the local AMC, reading, and hosting game nights with friends and family. These moments of connection and joy fuel her creativity and strengthen her ties to the community she loves.
