My name is LaStacia Ross and I am an Aquarian with many interests. Born and raised in Topeka, Ks, I have lived in Pittsburg since 1991. My formal education includes a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from PSU, and an Associate of Arts in Dance from Washburn University. I am currently the co-owner of Eclectic Soul Studio, where I lead classes in Dance, Qi Gong and Guided Meditation. I also practice Reiki, Chair Massage, and Spiritual Coaching.
My love for the earth combined with passion for art led me to organize an annual Earth Day event called Art For Earth from 1999-2005, prior to co-founding the Pittsburg Artwalk in 2006.
As an Arts Explorers board member from 2006-2009, I worked with community developmental disability service providers to foster artistic experiences. During this time I conducted workshops in rhythm, forming the group Thump. The group performed at several Pittsburg Artwalk events and opened for a PHS production of The Jellybean Conspiracy.
Since serving as an SEK Humane Society Board member from 1998-2002, I have continued to volunteer for Humane Society and Pawprints on the Heartland events over the years. I was also part of the original committee formed to save the Colonial Fox Theatre downtown.
As a member of the band Amanita, I love to drum, dance, write, design our set, and play with fire (poi). I am a co-founder of the local paranormal investigation group, MoonWise Paranormal, and have appeared on an episode of My Ghost Story (2012).
I have always believed our community is as good as we make it and am excited to see the arts thriving in Pittsburg...
